New Two Rivers principal announced, familiar face for many students

Mount Si High School announced this week that Assistant Principal Rhonda Schmidt will be joining Two Rivers School as its new principal for the 2017-18 school year.  Current Two Rivers Principal Amy Montanye-Johnson resigned recently and plans to “pursue other opportunities next fall,” according to the announcement.

Ms. Schmidt was a science and math teacher at Mount Si for four years while she earned her principal certification. For the past three years she has served students as an assistant principal.

Schmidt told Mount Si staff of her new Two Rivers position on Friday, January 13, 2017, which is effective on July 1st. Until then her role at Mount Si will remain essentially intact.

Per the announcement:

“She [Schmidt] has provided outstanding leadership, earning the respect of staff, students and parents alike. She is a capable and competent leader who embraces challenges and consistently keeps the best interest of students as the top priority for herself and the staff. We wish Ms. Schmidt the best in her new role at Two Rivers, and know she will continue to make a meaningful and positive impact on our students and community.”

Good Luck, Rhonda!
