New ‘Seahawks Park’ | Girl Scouts Help Create Action-Packed Local Park

Fisher Creek Park in Snoqualmie recently received what many parents say was a much-needed facelift. And ever since new park equipment was installed earlier this month, the feedback has been nothing but positive.

And part of the reason for those positive reviews is because local kids had an important say in the new playground equipment.

As they were pursuing park improvement projects, and in an effort respond to community feedback, the Snoqualmie Parks Board asked local girl scouts (8-12 years olds) to choose the park amenities they would most like to see.

The result is an action-packed, ‘wear those kids out’ park complete with eight slides, a rock climbing wall, a merry-go-round, spider ball, BMX Park and dueling 100-foot long zip lines for family races.

Snoqualmie Parks Director Dan Marcinko explained, “We want families to have a gathering place where they can spend time together, where the kids of all ages will be entertained and challenged. That’s why we asked the girl scouts for their input when we built this beautiful park. It’s all about the kids and community involvement.”

But the park facelift has also left some wondering… did the Parks Department purposely make the new equipment Seahawks colors? Short answer – YES. Marcinko thought it would be a great way for the city to show its Seahawks spirit.

Now city officials are ready to show off newly remodeled Fisher Creek Park to the whole community. So on Friday, October 2, 2015 from 4:30PM – 6:30PM there will be a Grand Opening Celebration (7805 Fisher Ave SE) in honor of the Seahawks-themed park.

The FREE event is an open to the entire community and includes giveaways, music with a DJ, hotdogs grilled by the Snoqualmie Police and Fire Chiefs, a chance to ‘Climb on the Fire Engine’ and a ribbon cutting with Mayor Larson.

Go HAWKS!!!

  • We love the park! It has been a great thing for our community! We just made some new friends tonight! But I sure hope they fix the zip lines that don’t work.

  • The zip line is supposed to have 2 tall towers and 2 short ones. The supplier sent 4 tall towers. The correct towers are on their way. Once the 2 short ones arrive, we will get it fixed. Sorry for the delay!
