As a new retail development, anchored by Safeway and Bartell Drugs, moves forward at the corner of Snoqualmie Parkway and Douglas Street on Snoqualmie Ridge, it appears a different “Land For Sale” sign has come down and another development possibility is on the horizon nearby.
According to a Community Development Staff report contained in the July 11th Snoqualmie City Council agenda, department staff members are currently working with a development group to “design and permit a new, 88-room mid range hotel on parcel 20.”
This is one of the few remaining vacant land parcels in the Business Park, located at the southeast corner of Center Street and Snoqualmie Parkway – across from Chase Bank.
City of Snoqualmie Community Development Director Mark Hofman said via email that the potential hotel is “far from a done deal, but there is apparent interest.”
Hofman said the development group has not completed or submitted designs to the city, but said they “do have the property under contingency control and seem to be moving forward with permitting.”
“The Salish is upper end, and a new hotel on Lot 20 would serve the mid-market with a quality option,” Hofman commented. He also said if the progress does lead to actual construction, he hopes the hotel will have a pool for patrons, adding that a pool is a nice amenity for community guests.
As the potential hotel is in the early planning stages, there is no known timeline for construction, nor is it known what hotel chain might be looking at the Snoqualmie location.

With the Salish Lodge as the only option in close proximity to the area, this would be a welcome addition for visiting family.
