Mt. Si Senior Center introduces: The Valley’s Great Plates

The senior center announced, in their September newsletter, they are partnering with some Snoqualmie Valley restaurants for a special treat.

The meals to go program was designed to help seniors who were having trouble feeding themselves healthy meals during the pandemic. Available for pick up or delivery, lunches are provided Monday through Friday.

Starting in September, select Friday meals will be prepared by local restaurants. The program launches on September 11, with Apollo Mediterranean Greek Food serving up a Greek chicken plate, orzo salad, falafel and homemade baklava.

One of the newer restaurants in North Bend, Apollo, filled a Mediterranean food gap in town. Fresh, authentic Mediterranean Greek food. Friendly staff. Good portions. Gyros, hummus, lots of salads, and more. Offer delivery and online ordering. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and happy hour specials.

Meals to Go diners can also look forward to upcoming meals from Café Minee, Black Dog Arts Café Inc. and many others. As the diners say, “food is life and one of its greatest pleasures.”

The Valley’s Great Plates bring together the community in new and innovative ways and they are excited to support one another through this challenging time. In the past, the program has received anonymous donations and blooms from Down To Earth Flowers.

Seniors are asked to pre-register so that the center may manage their resources efficiently. For more information, please call them at 425-888-3434 extension 0. If you get their voice mail, please leave your name and phone number. To volunteer or donate to the senior center, click here.

Bon appetit Valley seniors. We hope you have a great meal on Friday!
