Mount Si State Champion Debaters Offer Summer Mini Debate Camp, Intro to the Fundamentals of Debate

Two teams. Top in the state this year.  Both qualified for Nationals in Texas. Unprecedented performances. Both teams were from the same school…. Mount Si High School.

They can make their case – and want to teach your incoming 6th – 9th grader how to make theirs.

Watch out parents. State Debate Champions, Ryan Hartman and Kevin Pusich and State Runners-up, Ruary Thompson and Dana Korssojoen are ready to teach your kids how to make their case at their upcoming Summer Debate Camp on August 4th and 5th.

The mini camp will offer incoming 6th – 9th graders an introduction to the fundamental concepts of speech and debate – right at home at Mount Si High School.  The two-day camp runs $50.

Why debate?

Camp organizers say speech and debate is a great skill, citing that debaters have up to a 30% greater acceptance rate at top colleges; a high level of critical thinking skills; high performance on standardized tests like the SAT and ACT; great research skills and increased vocabulary; stronger than average relationships with peers and mentors.
