Mount Si Homecoming in the Air; Sunny Skies and Top Ranked Football Team

Update:  October 6th, 7:30AM:  Last night Kicker Cameron Van Winkle did set the set record for most field goals in a high school career in Mount Si’s 51-0 victory over Lake Washington.  Congratulations, Cameron.

It’s that time of year in the valley – Mount Si Homecoming.  If you have a high school student you probably feel the excitement.  Homecoming week is a pretty big deal at the local high school.  The halls are decorated, spirit week is coming to a close.  Today, gym decoration begins for tomorrow night’s Homecoming Dance, “Midnight in Paris.”

Then you top it all off with a Wildcat football team currently ranked 2nd in the state by the Seattle Times 3A Football poll, and, well, it makes for a great small town football night.  Not to mention, it’s a sunny beautiful fall day, which makes for a crisp fall evening during tonight’s 7PM kick off against Lake Washington High School at Wildcat Stadium.

The Seattle Times says Mount Si’s defense is one of the best in the state and if Cameron Van Winkle kicks and makes a field goal tonight, he will hold, outright, the state record for most field goals in a high school career.

For the first time in many years, Mount Si Football announced pre-game ticket sales.  Those advance sales happened yesterday in the MSHS commons.  Ticket purchasers were limited to 10 tickets each.  The school is also bringing in an extra set of bleachers for tonight’s Homecoming game to ensure enough seating for everyone.  The gates open at 6PM and game attendees are warned to come early to find a good seat.  Expect extra cars and traffic around downtown Snoqualmie and Mount Si High School this evening.

Tomorrow’s Homecoming Dance happens form 8-11PM in the school gym.  Happy Homecoming Snoqualmie Valley.  Now, time to fix a pair of sparkly silver shoes and get some teenage finger nails are prettied up.  But first order – Go Wildcats!
