Mount Si Football takes down Skyline with impressive road victory

There were LOTS of happy Wildcat fans under the Friday night lights September 1st, watching their team do something it hadn’t done in about a decade: beat Skyline.

Mount Si Football quieted home team fans at Spartan Stadium Friday night, opening up its 2017 KingCo 4A season with an impressive away victory over rival Skyline High School. The Spartans finished 10-3 last season and made it to the state 4A quarter finals.

The game was a 14-14 tie at halftime, with senior Jesiah Irish scoring both touchdowns (one offensive and one defensive). During the second half things broke open under the leadership of junior quarterback Cale Millen, who threw for five touchdowns on the night.

Junior wide receiver Jonny Barrett caught three of those second half TD passes and senior tight end Jack Westover grabbed one.

And with just a few minutes left in the 4th quarter, the Wildcats had a 41-23 lead. The final score was 41-30.

Mount Si Football plays its home opener, Friday, September 8, 2017 at 7PM against Bothell High School, which took a beating by Woodville High School in its season opener, 36-14.
