Mount Si Football shocks Lake Stevens, moves into 4A State semi finals

Mount Si Football pulled off an away game upset to stun the #3 ranked Lake Stevens Vikings on Saturday afternoon, November 23rd. The 24-22 win propels the Wildcats into the 4A state tournament semifinals.

Lake Stevens had been beating teams on average by 45 points per game until Mount Si rolled into town this weekend.

Junior quarterback Clay Millen threw for three TD’s, including a 69-yarder to Aidan Dougherty, a 29-yarder to Brayden Holt and a 34-yarder to Andrew Mostofi.

Lake Stevens cut Mount Si’s lead to 2 points with a dramatic 85-yard touchdown pass with about 10 minutes left in the 4th quarter. After a missed Wildcat field goal, Lake Stevens drove 70+ yards and got a shot at a go-ahead, 23-yard field goal with about two minutes left. Mount Si, though, came up big and blocked that field goal attempt.

And the rest is history.

The #11 ranked Wildcats (10-2) move on to face #2 ranked Camas High School (12-0) on Saturday, November 30th at 1PM at McKenzie Stadium in Vancouver, WA.

Good Luck and Go Cats!
