Mount Si Football Place Kicker, Cameron Van Winkle, Commits To The University of Washington Even Before His Senior Season Begins

If you’ve spent any time watching Mount Si football games since the 2009 season, you probably noticed their talented place kicker and punter, Cameron Van Winkle.  In 2009 he made the varsity team as a freshman.  Since that time, his talent for making field goals, many of them clutch, game-winning ones, has caught the attention of numerous college scouts.

Today, Mount Si’s Head Football Coach, Charlie Kinnune, announced that Cameron has committed to play football for the University of Washington Huskies after his 2013 graduation.

“I am pleased to announce that Cameron Van Winkle has verbally committed to kick the football for the University of Washington.  After a very hectic month of May and being recruited by some fantastic coaching staffs – WSU, Arizona State, Oregon, Cal, Fresno St. – Cameron has decided to take his skills to the U of W. He is now excited to enter his senior season at Mount Si High School with his decision being made. “

Congratulations Cameron!
