Mount Si Football Kicks Off Season With Annual Scarlet and Gray Scrimmage and Football-A-Palooza Friday, August 24th

Mount Si Football Coach Charlie Kinnune kicks off his 21st season coaching Wildcat Football this Friday, August 24th, with the Annual Scarlet and Gray Scrimmage at 7PM.

But before that annual tradition signaling the start of another high school football season, the Mount Si Football community is treating the entire valley to a Football-A-Palooza, from 4PM-6:30PM at MSHS.  It’s a great way to celebrate the 2012 Wildcat Football team.

The annual Scarlet and Gray scrimmage is expanding this year with pre-game festivities that include a tailgate dinner open to the entire community.  The event features a barbecue dinner, music, inflatable jumpy houses for the kids, competition games, pony rides, concessions, along with a sugar addict’s dream – a cake walk.  Also included is a meet-and-great with Mount Si coaches and players.  Oh, and photos and autographs with players because you never know who might end up in the NFL one day!

Volunteers and organizers are still seeking baked goods for the cake walk.  If you love to bake, they’d love your help.  They are also accepting store-bought cookies, cakes, cupcakes, pies and brownies.  Drop an email to mshsvolunteerjoy@hotmail.com by tonight if you are interested in donating.

Wildcat Football kicks off the regular season against Kennedy Catholic (my alma mater) at Highline Memorial Stadium on Friday, August 31st, at 8PM.  I played many soccer games and cheered on many football games at this stadium during my (oh-so-long-ago) high school career, along with being a football water girl. Go Wildcats – and that was just said by a Lancer!
