Mount Si Baseball Head Coach, Elliott Cribby, Leaving For College Coaching Job

Mount Si Baseball Coach, Elliott Cribby, who lead Mount Si to the state tournament the past two seasons, and one state championship, announced he is leaving Mount Si in three weeks for a position at Abilene Christian University (ACU) in Texas.

Coach Cribby accepted a Pitching Coach/Recruiting Coordinator job at the Abilene, Texas college.  ACU is headed into the NCAA Division 1 Southland Conference next season so this is a big opportunity for the two-year Wildcat Baseball Head Coach.

Coach Cribby says he’s very excited to get underway with his college coaching career, but says, “It is bittersweet as I leave a program full of student-athletes that are passionate about continuing their success as one of the premier baseball programs in the Northwest.”

Under Coach Cribby’s leadership, Mount Si Baseball boasted a record of 42-7 and 24-2 in KingCo 3A league play.  The team captured back to back KingCo regular season and tournament titles and made two State Championship appearances, winning the state title in 2011 and placing 5th this year. During his two-year tenure, Mount Si baseball also had 12 student-athletes move on to play college baseball – three of whom are currently on NCAA Division 1 rosters.  Coach Cribby says, “Without support of the community, parents, coaches and administration, Mount Si Baseball would not be where it is today.”

When asked who will be his replacement, Coach Cribby responded, “I do not know who the school will hire or what the procedure is, but I would hope that they hire from within. There are some outstanding coaches on staff currently and the program needs them, the student-athletes need them. A very good system is in place already.”

Coach Cribby resides in Redmond and will be making the move to Texas solo.   He will be missed at Mount Si, but we wish him the very best as he embarks on a college coaching career.
