More loud explosions at Fire Training Academy next week; upcoming closure planned on Orchard Drive

More Training Academy Explosions Possible

North Bend residents may be hearing loud booms once again.

According to the City of North Bend, the Washington State Fire Training Academy will be conducting training exercises at their property east of the city – off of I-90 exit 38 – between 8AM and 5PM, October 16th through 20th.

The city said residents living east of North Bend may hear loud explosions during the training exercises. During last month’s training exercises, though, residents living in the western portions of North Bend also reported hearing and feeling the loud booms.

The city did not release who would be conducting the training exercises.

The Washington State Fire Training Academy protects the citizens of Washington State through training, collaboration, and support of the fire service and other public safety professionals.
