Making a Small Town a Better Place to Live: North Bend Seeks Citizen of the Year Nominations

It’s a yearly tradition and it starts NOW. The City of North Bend is currently seeking nominations for its 2015 Citizen of the Year Award.

Do you know someone who makes North Bend shine and/or a wonderful place to call home?

Last year the winner was Amy Biggs, Director of Snoqualmie Valley Transportation and the driving force behind the Valley’s on-demand shuttle service.

According to the City, The Citizen of the Year is an individual or business that has gone above and beyond to make North Bend a better place to live, through professional or volunteer efforts, or by an extraordinary contribution to the community. Nominees do not need to live in the city limits of North Bend.

“We want to honor those who have shown, through their initiative and actions, that they truly care about the community,” said Mayor Ken Hearing.

The prestigious award is awarded annually to people and businesses whose hard work, spirit and dedication make the North Bend community great. This year’s winner will be announced at the January 19, 2016 City Council Meeting.

To make a nomination, just send a letter detailing what the person/business has done for the community and why they deserve the award by Monday, December 7, 2015. Please include daytime telephone numbers for yourself and the nominee.

Nominations should be directed to the attention of City Administrator Londi Lindell. They can be emailed to llindell@northbendwa.gov, by regular mail to City of North Bend, P.O. Box 896, 211 Main Ave. N., North Bend, WA 98045; or dropped off in person.

Now… start thinking and start nominating!
