Long Delays Possible on E. North Bend Way in Upcoming Days

The City of North Bend says paving work on E. North Bend Way, which starts today, Wednesday, June 18, 2014, has the potential to produce long delays for drivers in the upcoming days.

In preparation for a pavement overlay project, King County and Lakeside Industries crews will be on site Wednesday, June 18th to begin grinding asphalt on portions of East North Bend Way between the traffic roundabout (at Cedar Falls Way) and 436th Ave. SE (near I-90 exit 32).

The City of North Bend says traffic impact and delays should be minor during the grinding work, with only shoulder closures and short, single lane closures occurring. When paving starts, though, delays could be much longer.

Paving in the same stretch of E. North Bend Way is currently scheduled for Friday, June 20th, Monday, June 23rd, and Tuesday, June 24th. The paving weather dependent.

City officials warn traffic impacts during paving will be more severe, with long lane closures that could stretch the entire length of the roughly one mile project, leading to delays as long as 15 minutes.

The city  recommends drivers use SE Cedar Falls Way as an alternate route while the lane closures are in place on E. North Bend Way.
