Teen Formally Arraigned for Fatal North Bend New Year’s Day Hit and Run

North Bend 19-year old, Cody Eads, who was recently charged with felony hit and run in the January 1, 2013 accident that took the life of 57-Lucyyear old North Bend resident, Lucinda Pieczatkowski, was arraigned in a King County courtroom on Wednesday, August 21, 2013.

According to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s website, ” The defendant Cody J. Eads, 19, was arraigned in courtroom 1201 at the King County Courthouse. He plead not guilty. The Court lowered his bail from $25,000 as requested by prosecutors, to $10,000.”

Eads was released by the Court, giving him 48 hours to post the bail and obtain an ignition interlock device for his vehicle.  If convicted of the charge, the 2012 Mount Si graduate faces a sentence range of 31 to 41 months in prison.

An arrest form in court documents shows Eads could have also faced the charge of vehicular homicide, but according to Dan Donohoe of the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, “We filed the current charge of felony hit and run after a review of the evidence in the case.”
