Learn to Protect Yourself: Women’s Self-Defense Course Open to North Bend, Snoqualmie Residents

The Snoqualmie Police Department is offering a Women’s Self Defense Course. The course starts on Wednesday, September 27th at Cascade Covenant Church at 13225 436th Ave. SE in North Bend.

In this course, females over 16 years of age who live or work in the cities of North Bend or Snoqualmie will learn the nationally recognized Rape Aggression Defense System (RAD).

Classes are taught by Police Officers Nigel Draveling and Dave Bond. The class is a total of 12.5 hours, broken up over four classes. Participants must attend all four sessions.

  • Wednesday, Sept. 27th, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Thursday, Sept. 28th, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 4th, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 5th, 6 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

The RAD System is a detailed and comprehensive course for women beginning with crime prevention, risk reduction and avoidance while progressing on to the basics of hands on self-defense. This program is dedicated to teaching defensive concepts and techniques against various types of assault, by utilizing easy, effective and proven self-defense tactics.

The course is taught by certified instructors in the area of women’s self-defense and costs $30 per person payable by cash or check the first day of class.

Athletic attire is recommended. Sweat pants and cross training type shoes are preferred. No jewelry please.
