Learn about memoir writing in free, four-week workshop at Mt. Si Senior Center

Snoqualmie author and teacher Kim Pearson will lead a four-week series of classes on memoir writing, starting at 1PM. Wednesdays, May 1st to May 22nd, at Mt. Si Senior Center.

Pearson’s “Making History” classes teach participants ways to explore their own memories, as well as to interpret them as part of the larger historical happenings of the time.

“I lead (participants) on a wild gallop through 20 to 50 years, from 1950 to 2000, exploring how they made a difference, what they contributed, what they witnessed, and how they can share their stories with others,” Pearson says of the class. “They learn how to access buried memories through interactive techniques, sharing exercises, and non-critical discussion. They hear great stories from others and recount their own.

Pearson’s workshop is based on her book, “Making History: How to Remember, Record, Interpret and Share the Events of Your Life.” She has also written several books of poetry and short stories.
