Latest North Bend Public Safety Meeting to Focus on Homeless and Transient Population

Coinciding with the launch of the winter homeless shelter’s second season in the Valley, the latest North Bend Public Safety meeting will focus on the homeless and transient homlesspopulation within the North Bend/Snoqualmie Valley community.

The City of North Bend will hold its seventh in a series of Community Public Safety Meetings this Thursday, November 21st, from 6 – 8:00PM at the Mt. Si Senior Center, 411 Main Avenue South.

The emergency winter shelter, Valley Renewal Center, opened Friday, November 15, 2013 at the North Bend Community Church.  According to a City of North Bend press release, Police Chief Toner “would like to hear about any issues and concerns that the public may have on the topic.”

Discussion will also focus on causes and preventions for homelessness; options for how to address it in the North Bend community; safety for both the homeless and residents; issues that deal with homelessness; and steps people can take to help these situations.

The City of North Bend invites residents to join them “for this important and timely discussion.”

Community members can also contact Chief Mark Toner with any questions or with suggestions for future meeting discussion topics  at (425) 888-4438 or by e-mail at Mark.Toner@KingCounty.Gov
