Large house fire causes $200,000 in damages in downtown Snoqualmie

Multiple Eastside Fire departments responded to a large house fire in downtown Snoqualmie on Monday afternoon, July 30th.

According to Snoqualmie Fire Chief Mark Correira, the fire was located in the roof of the two-story home on Mountain Ave. When firefighters arrived on scene around 1PM, they assisted one person out of the home.

The fire was contained to the roof. Chief Correira said damages were estimated at $200,000.

No injuries were reported. The fire investigator determined the cause was a re-roofing project that was proceeding without a valid permit or inspection for building code requirements.

Snoqualmie firefighters were assisted by crews from Bellevue Fire, Eastside Fire & Rescue, Fall City and Redmond Fire Departments.
