Saturday night, social media posts reported a large law enforcement response near the Tinkham Road campgrounds.
These reports described a large law enforcement response near the Tinkham Road campgrounds, with posts claiming deputies were searching for a missing woman and that a woman in crisis had fired shots at a campground. Other posts also reported a Life Flight helicopter responding to the area.
A King County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson confirmed this morning that KCSO and the Washington State Patrol responded at about 10 p.m. to reports of a person in crisis near the Tinkham Road campgrounds.
According to KCSO, the person had fired a handgun, but there was no indication that the shots were fired at anyone. Despite the large police presence, there were no arrests or detentions, and the call was cleared around 1:30 a.m.
Deputies were conducting a follow-up on Sunday. KCSO said no additional information was available for release.
