Just a Few Months Until North Bend has New Fire Station; Live Webcam Lets You See the Progress

In February 2011, a $5 million bond passed to build a new fire station in North Bend.  In just a few short months, new fire station 87 is due to open on Maloney Grove Avenue, just off East North Bend Way. North Bend and Fire District 38 will jointly operate the new station with Eastside Fire and Rescue.

The new station replaces an antiquated building constructed in 1947 on 2nd Street, adjacent North Bend City Hall.  That station, which was added onto around 1970, was originally built for a volunteer fire fighting force, completely different from how it is used today.

According to a recent article in the Snoqualmie Valley Record, construction of the new station is progressing without a hitch – and life for firefighters at station 87 is going to be a lot different this summer.

If you’d like to keep an eye on progress of North Bend’s new fire station, the city has made it easy for you.  They installed a live web cam to follow construction of the station.

The new fire station will serve citizens living within North Bend and Fire District No. 38. According to the City of North Bend’s website, “completion is anticipated in June of 2013.”
