Fundraiser Success Story: North Bend boy’s Hot Chocolate stand raises hundreds for the homeless

We thought we’d provide an update for readers about the success of  North Bend 5th grader Thomas Biggins 2nd annual Hot Chocolate Stand – a simple fundraising concept that it seems was very well received.

Thomas opened his stand for about five hours during the December 3rd Downtown North Bend holiday festivities. When he ran the stand the previous year at the Visitor Information Center, he raised about $150 and donated it all to Snoqualmie Valley Shelter Services (SVSS) to help the homeless in our area.

Well, this year, thanks to incredible community support, Thomas was able to almost triple his earnings, raising $451

He recently presented that hard-earned hot cocoa money to Snoquamie Valley Shelter Services Program Coordinator, Trissa Dexheimer.

Thomas’s mom Camille said they received so many ‘thank you for doing this’ comments from visitors while serving hot chocolate this year – and that SVSS Director Jennifer Kirk even stopped by the stand again.

All-in-all, it was a Holiday Success Story. Nice work Thomas!
