Holiday Lights Contest Back for Third Year, Time to Light up the Neighborhood

It’s time to channel your inner Clark Griswold Snoqualmie residents.  Find those holiday lights, extension cords, splitters. Come up with the theme and then protect your fuse box because it’s time to light up the neighborhood!

For a third year, the City of Snoqualmie Parks & Recreation Department and the Snoqualmie Ridge Residential Owners Association (ROA) are inviting all residents and businesses to participate in the Snoqualmie Holiday Lights Contest!

Any resident, business, neighborhood, or community organization located within Snoqualmie city limits is eligible. Entries will be evaluated based upon creativity, originality, thematic elements, and overall design quality – not just the quantity of lights.

Categories to be judged are:

  • Best residential decorations
  • Best business decorations
  • The Clark Griswold Hap-Hap-Happiest most lights on the house decorations.

Here’s a home in Deer Park that always has a great display and has been in the contest the past two years.  It’s on the corner of Swenson Drive and Moffat Street and each year they add something new to the display.  This video is from 2012.

Entries are due to the Snoqualmie Parks and Rec office by December 11, 2015 at 4PM – and by December 14th your home or business must be fully decorated and lit.  Judging happens on December 17th between 6-9PM by in “impartial panel,” according to a City of Snoqualmie press release.

Winning locations will be recognized in the thTe Snoqualmie Valley Record and the SnoValley Star, along with the Snoqualmie Ridge ROA e-newsletter, and  also be presented with a certificate and yard sign indicating their ‘Clark Griswold’ success.
