ORIGINAL STORY

King County Sheriff and Search & Rescue are looking for Brendon Nepon and his dog after they were last seen on Sunday, 9/27/2020, near the Snow Lake Trailhead.

Brendon is a 37-year-old white male, 170 lbs., 5’9” with brown hair and brown eyes. It is possible he was hiking to Gem Lake from the Snow Lake Trailhead, close by Alpental.

His mother reported him missing on Monday when he didn’t return as expected. He is described as an inexperienced hiker

The Sheriff’s Office is asking people to call 911 if they see Brendon or his dog.

The search, started Monday, resumed this morning.

The Washington Trails Association describes the trail as “the most visited lake in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness.” The entire trip to Gem lake is 11 miles and is rated difficult with a 2670 ft. elevation gain.

Comments

  • I heard the trail is closed while they search. Curious if he tried to push on to Wildcat lake and got lost or injured? I am sure the rescue crew has already thought of that . So many little side trails to explore along snow lake & Gem Lake. I hope he is found safe.

  • How is the search going? Did they find him and his dog? So sorry to hear this news. Hoping for the best.

    1. I haven’t heard anything for awhile so I just emailed the King County Sheriff PIO to ask. I will update if there is any new information
