Help Mount Si Drama Fill the House for Alice in Wonderland this weekend

[Article by Glynis Rogers]

Thursday, April 19, 2018 was opening night of Alice in Wonderland at Mount Si High School. Once again, the MSHS Drama Club students have worked hard to put on a quality, fun-for-all-ages show.  Traditionally, the Spring Show is a non-musical, and this year it is a well-known story by Lewis Carroll, written and adapted for the stage by Eva LaGallienne and Florida Friebus.

For the Mount Si Drama Club, this is the first time the students have had a chance to work with their new drama director, Sara Dunlap-Bogan, a certified drama and language arts teacher who received her MA in Theatre Education from Emerson College in Boston after earning a BA in Performance Studies from Louisiana State University.

The cast of 33 student actors and several stage and tech-team crew members met their new director in early February and voce into auditions and set design immediately.

Costuming was, once again, done by the talented Denise Alexander.  The colors and creativity are always a delight for the shows thanks to her eye for detail.   Denise has worked with most of these students for several years, either at Mount Si or at Chief Kanim Middle School – and always knows what will work best as she sews and makes most of these costumes herself.  Thanks to her talents, Mount Si High School was given the award for “Best Costume Design” at the 5th Ave Theater Awards in 2016 for her work on Once Upon A Mattress.

The show runs this weekend only, with remaining shows Friday, April 20th and Saturday, April 21st at 7pm, and a matinée Saturday at 2PM.

Tickets are $10 per seat and available at the door. (Cash and checks only; no credit cards.)

The community is welcome and encouraged to join MSHS Drama to fill the house for the final three shows.

**Friday night only**  Pizza will be available to purchase at our shows courtesy of Frankie’s Pizza.  A bake sale table and drama club souvenirs will be offered at all shows.
