Hear a Boom? Rock Blasting Scheduled in Snoqualmie, August 13th

If you are in the Snoqualmie Ridge area today, August 13, 2013, plan on hearing some possible loud booms – or explosion noise.

As construction continues on the new, 16-acre Jeanne Hansen Community Park in the Eagle Park neighborhood, scheduled rock blasting nearby may surprise and rattle  residents in the area from 11:45AM – 2PM. The park is located at 34226 SE Jacobia Street, just off of Snoqualmie Parkway. Blasting will occur in plat 25 right by the park construction site.

The City of Snoqualmie says normal hours of park construction are as follows, although the construction crew has not been working late on weekdays and only as-needed on weekends.

  • Monday-Friday, 7AM – 8PM
  • Saturday, 8AM – 6PM
  • Sunday, 9AM. – 6PM

In May, rock blasting occurred in this same Eagle Point area as land was being prepared for home site development.  The booms could be heard and felt throughout the Eagle Point, Aster Creek and Deer Park neighborhoods.

The City of Snoqualmie apologizes for any disturbance due to the blasting.

Again that blasting will happen from 11:45AM – 2PM, Tuesday, August 13, 2013.
