Fully engulfed car fire closes SR 202 in Snoqualmie for short time Monday morning

Snoqualmie Fire and Police Departments responded to a fully engulfed vehicle fire around 8:30AM, February 18, 2019 on SR 202 near the Mount Si High School Freshman campus in downtown Snoqualmie.

Snoqualmie Fire Chief Mark Correira said the SUV had only one occupant when it caught fire. He said they believe the cause was “an electrical issue while driving.”

SR 202 was closed for a short time while emergency crews responded. There were no injuries. Chief Correira said the vehicle was a total loss.
