The forecast for this Father’s Day Weekend, June 18th-19th, promises weather that’s sunny and warm—perfect for a family outing in the Cascade foothills and a chance to enjoy a special event: DAD’s DAY BBQ IN HISTORIC DOWNTOWN SNOQUALMIE.
Hosted by local merchants in conjunction with the Northwest Railway Museum, downtown Snoqualmie’s celebration for Dads begins with a scenic steam train excursion. The round trip journey between North Bend and Snoqualmie takes about 70 minutes and includes travel to the top of Snoqualmie Falls for a dramatic bird’s-eye view of the valley & river below. Dads can enjoy a free ride aboard the Museum’s antique train, when accompanied by a paying child.
Trains depart every 90 minutes between 11AM and 4PM from the Snoqualmie Depot at 38625 S.E. King Street and the North Bend Depot at 205 McClellan Street. Father’s Day festivities in historic downtown Snoqualmie are open from Noon-5PM.
Participating shops and cafes are located across the street from the Snoqualmie Depot and include Corners Gift Shop, Snoqualmie Brewery & Taproom, The Bindlestick, Down to Earth and Sno Valley Art Gallery. The celebration includes Stonewall Kitchen BBQ Sauce Tasting, BBQ Menu Specials, Beer Brewing Lessons, a Dessert & Chocolate Tasting during Father-Daughter Art Exhibit, and an Arts Party at the ART GALLERY OF SNO VALLEY where kids can create an artsy painted tie for Dad.
The Arts Party, Tastings & Brewing Lessons are free Roundtrip train fares are $12 for ages 2-12, $20 for ages 62 and up, $22 for ages 13-61. Children younger than 2 ride the train free.
