SUMMARY:Willow + Wood Vinyl Release Party!
DESCRIPTION:Willow + Wood Return to Their Hometown of Seattle Friday\, August 6\, to Celebrate \nVinyl Release of their Cinematic\, Critically-Praised Album Tornadoes in My Head \nNashville\, TN (July 10\, 2021) – Indie folk duo Willow + Wood return to Seattle August 6 to celebrate the vinyl release of their new album Tornadoes in My Head. This will be their first show back in the Pacific Northwest since they relocated to Nashville six years ago. \n“I can’t think of a better place to have our vinyl release party than at Miller’s Carnation in the beautiful Snoqualmie Valley\,” said singer Willow Scrivner. “This music venue and gathering space is the new creation of our dear friends\, Bill Pritchard and Nancy Colton. To be able to celebrate our new creation in their new creation feels like a whole lot of creative magic. Like a tornado of magic swirling around us.” \nWillow & Wood is Scrivner and Kevin Wood\, a married couple who create a sonic landscape of both solitude and beauty\, hovering between the warmth of Americana and the cool darkness of dream pop. The band’s music is transcendent: both a study of the geography of place\, and the constant search for home. Their songs ache with both hope and a broken heart. Those contradictions are at the core of what makes the band so special. Falling somewhere between indie pop and country\, they have created a sound rooted in a West Coast reverb-drenched loneliness\, dripping with southern humidity and darkness – and determined to find the magic. Tornadoes in my Head is the first vinyl release from the group\, which was founded not long after the two met at the Seattle club The Dubliner. Seattle Weekly calls their music “haunting and ethereal”\, while The Seattle Times described Scrivner as the “Flannery O’Connor of the scene.” \n“This album is bound to Seattle and the Northwest as much as it is tied to Nashville and the South\,” Scrivner added. “These two very different places are now thoroughly entwined in our hearts and heads and our music.” \nThe vinyl release celebration takes place: \nFriday\, August 6 \nMiller’s Carnation – A Gathering Place \nDoors at 7pm / Show at 8pm \nTickets $10 \nTornadoes in My Head is available on all streaming services worldwide. \nwww.willowsmusic.com
