SUMMARY:Willow + Wood Vinyl Release Party!
DESCRIPTION:Willow + Wood Return to Their Hometown of Seattle Friday\, August 6\, to Celebrate \nVinyl Release of their Cinematic\, Critically-Praised Album Tornadoes in My Head \nNashville\, TN (July 10\, 2021) – Indie folk duo Willow + Wood return to Seattle August 6 to celebrate the vinyl release of their new album Tornadoes in My Head. This will be their first show back in the Pacific Northwest since they relocated to Nashville six years ago. \n“I can’t think of a better place to have our vinyl release party than at Miller’s Carnation in the beautiful Snoqualmie Valley\,” said singer Willow Scrivner. “This music venue and gathering space is the new creation of our dear friends\, Bill Pritchard and Nancy Colton. To be able to celebrate our new creation in their new creation feels like a whole lot of creative magic. Like a tornado of magic swirling around us.” \nWillow & Wood is Scrivner and Kevin Wood\, a married couple who create a sonic landscape of both solitude and beauty\, hovering between the warmth of Americana and the cool darkness of dream pop. The band’s music is transcendent: both a study of the geography of place\, and the constant search for home. Their songs ache with both hope and a broken heart. Those contradictions are at the core of what makes the band so special. Falling somewhere between indie pop and country\, they have created a sound rooted in a West Coast reverb-drenched loneliness\, dripping with southern humidity and darkness – and determined to find the magic. Tornadoes in my Head is the first vinyl release from the group\, which was founded not long after the two met at the Seattle club The Dubliner. Seattle Weekly calls their music “haunting and ethereal”\, while The Seattle Times described Scrivner as the “Flannery O’Connor of the scene.” \n“This album is bound to Seattle and the Northwest as much as it is tied to Nashville and the South\,” Scrivner added. “These two very different places are now thoroughly entwined in our hearts and heads and our music.” \nThe vinyl release celebration takes place: \nFriday\, August 6 \nMiller’s Carnation – A Gathering Place \nDoors at 7pm / Show at 8pm \nTickets $10 \nTornadoes in My Head is available on all streaming services worldwide. \nwww.willowsmusic.com

SUMMARY:The North Bend Film Festival
DESCRIPTION:The North Bend Film Festival is emerging from the fog with a hybrid 2021 festival taking place July 15-18\, 2021. The in-person portion of the fest returns audience members to the historic art deco North Bend Theatre for a limited amount of feature film and short screenings to complement a robust virtual lineup of screenings\, talkbacks\, and immersive experiences. The majority of film selections will be exclusive to physical or virtual with only a few overlaps making for a unique festival experience however you choose to attend. \nNew to the festival is the Dulac Vanguard Filmmaker Award meant to honor an extraordinary achievement in groundbreaking filmmaking with a director’s first or sophomore film. This year’s recipient is Jane Schoenbrun for their debut film “We’re All Going to the World’s Fair\,” a beautifully haunting work that captures with surreal relevance the dual sadness and hope of life lived through a screen.\nContinuing the festival’s mission to present groundbreaking immersive events\, this year will feature a tongue-in-cheek pregnancy mystery party with I Swing\, You Swing\, a self-led storytelling experience that will take place across North Bend with Marcia Needs Space and the in-person return of fest favorite Strange Storytelling Hour\, which will be recorded in front of a live audience and offered online for virtual viewing after. \nNorth Bend Film Fest virtual programming is geo-restricted to the Pacific Northwest (Washington\, Oregon\, and Idaho) with two types of festival passes currently on sale: a 10 feature or shorts program package for $95 and a 12 feature or shorts program package for Industry Members also priced at $95. All event programming will be free to pass holders. Individual ticket options also include a $3 discount for locals attending in-person screenings. \nTo buy a pass\, visit bit.ly/nbffpass\, or view our complete lineup here bit.ly/nbfffilmguide! \nAll in-person screenings will be held in strict accordance with state and federal guidelines regarding safety through the ongoing COVID pandemic. \n  \n[videopack id=”46076″]https://livingsnoqualmie.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/NORTH-BEND-FILM-FEST-2021-Bumper.mp4[/videopack] \n
