SUMMARY:City of Snoqualmie - City Service Level Choices Community Meeting
DESCRIPTION:City of Snoqualmie – City Service Level Choices Community Meeting\n\nSnoqualmie Valley YMCA/Community Center\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe City of Snoqualmie is inviting residents to a community discussion on Snoqualmie’s City service levels on Wednesday\, July 29\, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Snoqualmie Valley YMCA. \nThe end of the North Bend police partnership eliminated shared police funding and anticipated additional annual revenue that would have helped offset inflation. The City hasn’t asked voters for a property tax increase since 2017\, and in the years since rising costs have been absorbed by cutting staff\, delaying investments\, and scaling back services. \nContinuing that approach would now mean cuts residents would see every day\, such as police response times\, proactive patrols\, responses to non-emergency calls\, fire and emergency response\, park maintenance\, community events\, street maintenance\, permitting\, facility reservations\, and other day-to-day City services. The City wants to hear directly from residents before deciding whether to place a property tax increase proposal on the ballot. \nLearn more here: https://www.snoqualmiewa.gov/695/Biennial-Budget \n\n\n\n\n\n[Information provided by the City of Snoqualmie]

SUMMARY:Carnation Farms - Floral Centerpiece Workshop
DESCRIPTION:August 8 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm \n\n\n\nCelebrate the beauty of late-summer blooms in this floral workshop with award-winning florist Cassandra Solmonsen! Set against the farm’s summer landscape\, participants will delve into the art of floral design using locally-sourced blooms\, ensuring a sustainable and vibrant creation. The workshop will cover essential lessons in color theory and design principles\, equipping you with the knowledge to create your own stunning arrangements–and a floral centerpiece to take home! \nAll necessary supplies\, including floral sheers\, vessels\, and armatures\, will be provided. \nThis afternoon of floral creativity and community is perfect for anyone who loves flowers\, enjoys connecting with nature\, or wants to learn a new creative skill. \nAbout the Instructor: Cassandra Solmonsen spent her childhood running barefoot through the forest\, much to her parents’ chagrin\, fascinated by the deep greens of the moss\, the bright white of the trillium\, and the jewel tones of the salmon berries. This love for nature\, especially locally grown PNW flowers and greenery\, has only grown in the three decades since. \nHer work focuses on embracing the natural beauty of blooms and designing organic pieces that represent this wonderful place we get to call home

SUMMARY:Carnation Blood Drive
DESCRIPTION:Date: Tuesday\, August 18\, 2026 \nTime: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM \nLocation: Tolt Triangle Park (4620 Tolt Avenue Carnation\, WA 98014) \nSummer can be a challenging time for maintaining a strong community blood supply\, and Bloodworks Northwest is encouraging local donors to make time to donate blood to meet local patient needs. \nEvery day\, hospitals rely on blood donations to support emergency care\, surgeries\, cancer treatments\, and other critical medical procedures. Because blood cannot be manufactured\, volunteer donors play an essential role in helping patients receive the transfusions they need. \nGiving blood is one of the simplest ways to make a difference in your community. In about an hour\, you can help strengthen the blood supply and support local hospitals throughout the summer. \nMake your appointment today to donate with the City of Carnation on Tuesday\, August 18! \n

SUMMARY:Carnation Farms - Feast in the Field - Every Cut Matters with the Good Meat Project
DESCRIPTION:Feast in the Field – Every Cut Matters with the Good Meat Project\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSaturday\, August 22  •  5 PM – 8:30 PM\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for a fundraising dinner at Carnation Farms\, where the beauty of the season comes to life through thoughtful food and good company.\n\n\n\nThis August\, we’re hosting a special farm-to-table dinner highlighting whole-animal cooking with pasture-raised lamb and beef from right here on the farm\, freshly-picked organic veggies\, and perfectly paired wines courtesy of Alveare Winery. \nIf you select our Happy Hour & Butchery add-on\, you’ll start the evening with an inside look at how meat gets from our pasture to your dinner plate\, with our butcher\, Thomas Coss. Specialty cocktail in hand\, he will walk you through the cutting process and sharing inside knowledge about which cuts have the most flavor\, what provides the best value\, and even the cuts most butchers don’t want you to know about. This is even better than a seat at the chef’s table. \nMost guests will kick off the night with a guided walk through the fields alongside our Director of Agriculture\, Eric Popp—he’ll share how we grow and graze with care in the heart of the Snoqualmie Valley. Then\, settle in at the table for a multi-course dinner crafted by our culinary team and inspired by the season. This is your chance to meet the folks behind your food—our farmers\, chefs\, and local partners—and savor the peak of summer in the fresh air. Come hungry\, curious\, and ready to connect! \nDinner will feature a set menu featuring peak-season ingredients. In partnership with the Good Meat Project\, we will be highlighting nose-to-tail cooking—an approach that uses as much of an animal as possible rather than focusing only on familiar steaks or chops. Whole animal cooking reduces waste\, honors the life of the animal\, and supports more sustainable\, responsible farming. This approach also offers deeper flavor\, better nutrition\, and a stronger connection to where our food comes from. \nAnd\, this is a fundraiser after all\, participate in an auction of items ranging from a private tour of the Westland Whiskey distillery\, butcher’s boxes\, farm dinners\, and more. \nWe will do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions when possible\, but minimal substitutions may be available. \n✨ Highlights: \n\nLight appetizers and a welcome cocktail sponsored by Fast Penny Spirits\nMulti-course\, chef-driven dinner inspired by the season\nPasture-raised meats\, organic produce\, and curated wine pairings from Alveare\nAn open-air setting that celebrates the rustic beauty of the farm\nA curated swag bag courtesy of Anytime Spirits\n\nThis immersive event makes for a perfect romantic date-night\, an extra-special night with friends\, and a great way to meet people! \nAbout the Good Meat Project: The Good Meat Project is a nonprofit with the mission to advance an ethical meat system by connecting farmers\, butchers\, chefs\, and consumers around shared values. Through education\, community-building\, and practical tools\, they support responsible producers and strengthen local meat supply chains. \nAbout Alveare Winery: Alveare is an award-winning winery located right here in Carnation. The founders\, Samantha and Xander Kent\, are passionate about sustainability\, beekeeping\, and the environment.
