More ballots will be counted and added to the results each business day around 4PM until the election is certified at the end of the month.

In the 8th Congressional District U.S.representative race, which includes King, Pierce, Kittitas and Chelan counties, about 64% of precincts have reported results. Washington State Secretary of State website will also update results daily until that race is certified.

Incumbent 5th District Rep. Paul Graves conceded his race on Facebook Tuesday night saying, “It’s been a terrific honor to represent East King County in the legislature. And in our system, the people always have the final say. This year, they chose Lisa Callan. I wish her more than the best, and have no doubt that she will do her utmost to represent this wonderful part of the world. While it always hurts to lose, my overwhelming feeling is of gratefulness: to my family, my wife and sons, my community, and this place I call home and which I have been blessed to serve. Thank you all so much for your love and support. It has meant the world to me.”

Magendanz was staying optimistic, saying on Facebook: “For those who would count me out with 47.52% of the vote on election night, I’d like to point out that I’m a full point ahead of where I was in 2016…and that turned out very close!”

Rossi spoke at an election night event saying it was way too early to call the race. If Schrier holds on to win she will be the first democrat elected in the 8th congressional district.
