Drowning victim recovered from the Snoqualmie River

On Tuesday afternoon, June 23, 2020, the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) said crews had recovered the body of drowning victim from the Snoqualmie River who had been missing for two days.

KCSO Sgt. Ryan Abbott said the drowning was reported Sunday, June 21st around 3PM. He said it happened in front of the fish hatchery (near Snoqualmie Falls) when a male in his 30’s was swimming and went under under the rapids. Abbott added, “No one else saw him after that.”

The body was recovered near where the man went missing.

Earlier this week, friends of the drowning victim – identified as Waheed Noori – launched a GoFundMe to help support his wife and four young children. The fundraiser has raised over $90,000 in just a few days.
