Drivers Should Plan for SR 18 Lane Closures Near Snoqualmie this Week and Next

Drivers who use State Route 18 should prepare for more lane closures, in both directions, between Interstate 90 and Deep Creek in Snoqualmie this week and next.

Contractor crews will conduct various construction activities to prepare the highway for widening.

Closure information

  • From 9 p.m. Monday, February 27, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, February 28, workers will close one eastbound lane to place temporary barriers.
  • From 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night, Tuesday, February 28 and Wednesday, March 1, workers will close the eastbound lane and alternate traffic just west of I-90.
  • From 5 a.m. Monday, March 6 through 5 a.m. Thursday, March 9, workers will close the westbound truck climbing lane for tree clearing.

This work is connected to the I-90/SR 18 interchange improvement project. When completed in early 2025, it will improve traffic flow and safety along this busy corridor by building a diverging diamond interchange and widening two miles of SR 18 between I-90 and Deep Creek.

Another project will widen the highway from Deep Creek to Issaquah-Hobart Road and could begin as early as 2025 when the first project is finished.

Real-time traffic information is available on the WSDOT regional travel map, the WSDOT app and the WSDOT Traffic Twitter account.
