Downtown Snoqualmie Construcitons Closes King Street Bus Stop, Temporary Closure of River Street

Construction in downtown Snoqualmie that is part of the  Downtown Center Infrastructure Improvement Project  is forcing a couple of changes for drivers and bus riders the week of July 7, 2014.

Bus Stop Closure

Starting on Tuesday, July 8th, the bus stop at SE King St and Railroad Ave heading southbound [toward North Bend] will not be available due to construction.

The bus stop will be closed until further notice. Bus routes 208, 209, and 215 will still be accessible – they are not changing. Riders just need to access other nearby downtown bus stops.

King County Metro asks riders to use the existing southbound bus stops:

  • Railroad Ave and SE Northern Street
  • Railroad Ave and SE Newton Street

Due to the same bus stop closure, the Snoqualmie Valley shuttle heading southbound into North Bend will also be unavailable, but it will still be accessible, with no route changes. Shuttle riders are asked to use the bus stop on Railroad Ave and SE Northern Street as an alternative.

There will be signs at the bus stop to alert riders.

The area where the bus stop is located (across from Sahara Pizza/Bowling Alley) is being remodeled during  Infrastructure Improvement Project work, which includes new angled parking and new sidewalks adjacent the railroad tracks. (See photo below.) The project is expected to be completed in May 2015.

Temporary Street Closure

On Monday, July 7th, SE River St – between Railroad Ave SE and Maple Ave SE – will be temporarily closed from 7AM to 5PM for to an installation of storm water catch basins and pipe crossings.

The public will still be able to access businesses and the Snoqualmie United Methodist Church on SE River Street.

Railroad Ave SE will continue to have two-way traffic. There will be street closure and detour signs to alert the public.

This construction is also part of the Downtown Infrastructure and Improvement Project, which supports Snoqualmie’s downtown revitalization efforts.

  • so theyre not putting in a turning lane? great, because fixing the dangerous street would be better than a walkway which no one will use, save ‘railroad days’. also those trees have been in town for decades and provide shade
oh well, thats what happens when people dont vote
