Downtown Facelift: North Bend starts big construction project, Monday, July 24th

It’s a project that has been in the works for over a year now – and it’s about to officially start.

The City of North Bend is reminding Snoqualmie Valley residents that construction on its Downtown Plaza Project will begin Monday, July 24, 2017.  Work is expected to last through November 2017.

The project is located along East North Bend Way between Bendigo Boulevard South (State Route 202) and Ballarat Avenue North.

The city says the Downtown Plaza Project is intended to create an attractive and safe downtown environment to shop, dine and gather. It will result in widened sidewalks, pedestrian amenities, and traffic calming measures to improve safety and mobility for pedestrians, bicyclists, and vehicular traffic.

During a portion of the construction schedule there will be a closure of East North Bend Way from Bendigo Boulevard South (State Route 202) to Ballarat Avenue North, as well as reduced parking in the project area. Traffic detours and signage will be established to direct people around the project site during the road closure.

A construction schedule, design layout, alternative parking map, and FAQ’s document can be found on the City of North Bend Public Works Department Current Projects Web Page HERE.

Downtown businesses will remain open during construction.  The city encourages Residents and visitors to support downtown businesses during construction.
