Update: Covid Outbreak at Nursing Facility in North Bend: 39 patients, 31 staff infected and 8 have died

A recent update from the Department of Health reveals some very sad numbers from Regency North Bend Rehabilitation & Nursing.

Out of 44 residents, 39 are now positive for Coronavirus. There are 56 staff members working at the facility, 31 have tested positive for the virus.

Eight residents have died.

ORIGINAL STORY

Reports surfaced recently that Regency North Bend Rehabilitation & Nursing was having a significant Coronavirus.

According to a Communications Specialist for Public Health – Seattle & King County, Regency North Bend has reported to them that they have 23 positive residents out of a total of 42 and 23 positive staff out of a total of 55. There are two reported COVID-related resident deaths connected with this outbreak. 

The facility has reported to the Department of Health that they are short-staffed and are having positive (asymptomatic) staff work with COVID positive residents, under CDC’s crisis capacity strategy. The DOH team did an in-person Infection Control assessment today, along with DOH representatives, as well as a tele-visit yesterday, November 24th.

The Department of Health will update information as they know more.

North Bend has seen a rapid case increase over the last two weeks, with 46 new cases and a 14.3% positive test rate.
