Community Invited to Josh Gallegos Memorial Service, Remembering a Courageous, Young Life

The Twin Falls Middle School community was shocked and saddened to learn of the sudden passing of 14-year old 8th grade student, Joshua Gallegos on Sunday, May 3, 2015.

Josh died of natural causes pertaining to a genetic heart condition that diagnosed when he was just 5-years old. Friends and family said he faced his nine-year battle with courage and determination.

He was born March 7, 2001 and leaves behind his parents, Joey and Jenny, his twin sister Julia and his big brother Jakob.

From Josh’s Obituary:

“Though his time here was short, the measure of his life is not taken by the years he spent on this earth, but is taken in josh gallegosthe blessings of his presence.  Joshua was known for his impish grin, knowing looks, and genuine warmth.  We remember the infectious laugh that was highlighted by dimples that were made for Hollywood.

Joshua attended Twin Falls middle school in North Bend where he touched the lives of his schoolmates, teachers and friends with a genuine openness that drew people to him.  Joshua was a jokester who loved to spend time on the trampoline or playing X-box with his friends. He loved chocolate milk, Double Stuffed Oreos, waffles and French toast.”

Memorial Service at Twin Falls Middle School

The community is invited to a memorial Service celebrating Josh’s young life on Saturday, May 9th, at 10AM at Twin Falls Middle School, 46910 SE Middle Fork Road in North Bend. Josh’s friends are encouraged to wear red shirts to the service to honor him.  You can also leave memories of Josh on his Facebook Memorial page.

Bereavement Fund

A close family friend recently launched a Josh Gallegos Bereavement Fund to help offset funeral costs and other expenses, as well as future counseling for Josh’s twin sister, older brother and parents.  Over $2500 has been generously donated by the community in just a few short days.
