City of North Bend Opens Nominations for annual ‘Citizen of the Year’ Award

The City of North Bend is currently seeking nominations for its 2014 ‘Citizen of the Year’ Award. Former honorees include Snoqualmie Valley Historical Society Board member Gardiner Vinnedge, Encompass Director of Pediatric Therapy,Nela Cumming and Boxley’s owners and music advocates, Danny and Robyn Kolke.

The annual award honors an individual or business that has gone above and beyond to make North Bend a better place to live, through professional or volunteer efforts, or by an extraordinary contribution to the community.

This year’s winner will be announced at the January 6, 2015, North Bend City Council Meeting.

“We want to honor those who have shown, through their initiative and actions, that they truly care about the community,” said Mayor Ken Hearing via press release.

To make a nomination, send a letter describing what the deserving person or business has done for the community and why they should be honored by Monday, December 8, 2014.

Nominations should be directed to the attention of City Administrator Londi Lindell. They can be sent by e-mail to llindell@northbendwa.gov; by regular mail to City of North Bend, P.O. Box 896, 211 Main Ave. N., North Bend, WA 98045; or dropped off in person. Include daytime telephone numbers for yourself and the nominee.
