There’s big news for Snoqualmie Valley soccer fans: The upcoming U.S. Men’s Team World Cup game on Wednesday, July 1, will be shown on the big screen in the North Bend Theater.
The U.S. team’s opponent in this exciting match is Bosnia and Herzegovina. The clash is part of the FIFA Men’s World Cup’s Round of 32, with the winner advancing to the next round — and the losing team going home. The U.S. team earned a spot in the Round of 32 by taking first place in Group D.
“We’re thrilled to be able to bring this global event to downtown North Bend and capture some of the World Cup excitement in the Snoqualmie Valley,” says Kevin Burrows, theater owner. “We hope to turn downtown into a big Watch Party for this event.” Crowds of fans have packed Watch Parties around the world to watch the FIFA Men’s World Cup, which began June 11 and will conclude with the championship on July 19.
Wednesday’s game begins at 5 p.m.; doors open at 4; all drinks and concessions will be available; and admission to the theater is free. Youth players are encouraged to come with their teams and wear their team jerseys.
The U.S. Men’s team is on a historic run so far in the tournament. This is only the third time the U.S. has finished on top of a World Cup group. If they can beat Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday, they advance to the Round of 16 on July 6, with the match potentially being played in Seattle.
