Carnation Main Street Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The City of Carnation invites the public to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the nearing completion of the Tolt Avenue project. The reconstruction of Carnation’s main street on State Highway 203 aims to restore the Central Business District and revitalize the downtown area.

The event will take place on Wednesday, Aug 31st, 2022, at 11 AM. The press conference will be held at Tolt Commons, located at the corner of Stossel Ave NE and W Bird Street in Carnation, WA.

“This project has been over ten years in the making,” says Mayor Kim Lisk. “We would like to thank our funders, the community, and past and present City Councils for their support and dedication to making our vision for Carnation a reality.”

Project Manager Lora Wilmes says, “the Central Business District is the heart of Carnation, and the improvements made in this area not only enhance the town’s infrastructure but showcases its beauty and charm.”

City Manager Ana Cortez mentioned that “the Tolt Avenue project will make a significant impact in Carnation by encouraging economic development and allowing local businesses to thrive.”

The project is a partnership between the City of Carnation, the State of Washington, and the Federal government. Thirteen grants have invested $10 million to fix the road, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and stormwater utility.
