Business Goings & Comings: Piccola Cellars says goodbye; Wildflower Wine Shop plans to move to in

Saying on their Facebook page that “circumstances out of our control has forced us to make this decision for the time being,” Piccola Cellars unexpectedly closed its doors on Sunday, July 30th after three years in business at the old North Bend fire station on 2nd Street.

A City of North Bend press release said the building won’t be vacant, though, as JazzClubsNW will continue to host music performances in the location every Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday – AND another local business will soon move a few blocks and take over the comfortable spot Piccola had created inside the fire engine bays of the old station.

Wildflower Wine Shop recently announced plans to move from their current location near Pioneer Coffee to Piccola’s old space. They will partner with JazzClubsNW to create a complete experience of gourmet food, wine and music.

“This is a natural extension of our founding vision to be a part of a growing lifestyle and culture in the Snoqualmie Valley,” said Wildflower owner, Kimberlea Miller.

She added, “We firmly believe in contributing to the art and culture of the valley. Wildflower regularly features musical artists recommended by JazzClubsNW, and we have become a regular venue for both the Blues Walk and the Jazz Walk.”

Wildflower’s food menu will feature small plates such as organic salads, charcuteries, wraps, soups and traditional Greek food. They’re committed to serving fresh, organic, local produce and grass-fed meats. As the business grows, Wildflower plans to expand its menu and offer larger plates and more options.

“We remain committed to supporting local farmers and providing the refreshing, clean and healthy food that has made us unique in this Valley,” said Miller.

Wildflower has begun the permitting process, which is expected to take approximately 90 days. They will remain open in their current location at 228 W. North Bend Way in North Bend until the move.
