Back in Business: Popular General Store reopens in North Bend with new, local owner

The popular General Store located off I-90 exit 32 near the former Cascade Golf Course officially re-opened on Friday, March 1, 2019 after a 28-acre chunk of the golf course property was purchased by Si View Parks in November. The purchased acreage will become a community park in the near future.

Si View Parks announced in February it has leased the General Store – which has been a staple in North Bend for decades – to Amy McGhee, who is excited to get the store back open adjacent to the popular Riverbend Cafe.

Via press release Si View described Amy as “thrilled to support the neighboring communities and serve visitors to nearby outdoor recreation destinations and future community park goers.”

The General Store will initially sell dairy, snacks and soda products while it obtains required liquor and tobacco licenses. Any hopes to have a full product line by the end of March, with the end of April being the worst case scenario.

Amy is a Riverbend resident and has lived in the Snoqualmie Valley for 15 years. She has community as part of the store’s goals, and so welcomes suggestions regarding what products to stock. With this new community park and the number of trails in area, trail usage is growing, which means Amy also plans to cater to hikers’ and visitors’ needs.

General Store hours are 7AM to 7PM, Monday through Friday and 8AM to 6PM on the weekends. For more information about the store operations, please contact store operator Amy McGhee at (425) 208-2040 or email southforkgs@gmail.com.
