Attention Foodies: Snoqualmie Valley Restaurants celebrate homegrown food during Bounty Week

All week long if you visit Snoqualmie Valley restaurants, you could find yourself being served up food grown about as locally as it can get.

During the second annual Bounty Week, October 13th-19th, local chefs will make special dishes using Snoqualmie Valley grown ingredients.

Bounty Week began in 2016 as a way to create connections between Snoqualmie Valley farms and restaurants. The Valley’s farms produce an amazing array of food, from vegetables, herbs, and fruit to beef, pork, and lamb to artisanal cheese and mushrooms. This region also has a great variety of restaurants, cafes, wineries, and pubs. It was a perfect combination.

A few of the restaurants offered sneak peaks of their special menu items. The Black Dog in Snoqualmie is serving a hand-crafted pizza with an olive oil and garlic base, topped with fennel and golden beet, and paired with a side radicchio salad. Carnation Café will be offering a play on eggplant parmesan, featuring sweet delicata squash. Red Pepper Pizzeria in Duvall will feature their namesake, sweet red peppers, on their signature pizza and Red Pepper salad.

Last year the Snoqualmie Brewery participated in Bounty Week. Manager Dave Eiffert commented, “Our chefs used it to produce some marvelous dishes, and the customers not only raved about them, but actually walked up to the kitchen window to express their surprise at the quality of food coming out of our little kitchen. Everyone felt the food pairings were perfect as well.”
