Fun for All: Festival at Mt. Si happens all weekend

Feel like some fun this weekend? It’s that time of year again… Festival at Mt Si time, celebrating North Bend’s community spirit. Weather forecasters even say the smoky haze should clear and temperatures should cool a bit.

The annual festival has it all: local shopping with arts and crafts vendors, tons of live music, LOTS of food, a beer garden, fireworks, a chili cook off, a kid fun zone, a blueberry dessert contest, a cherry pie eating showdown – and don’t forget the parade.

The Festival at Mt. Si happens all weekend – August 11th – August 13th – at Si View Park. Hours are: Friday, 6pm-10pm; Saturday, 10am-10pm (booth hours 10am-7pm); and Sunday, 10am-4pm.

This year’s parade also has a very special Grand Marshall: 88-year old Pat Cokewell, who has lived in North Bend for nearly 50 yeas and has seen the festival in all of its versions – and watched North Bend grow from a small logging town of 1,000 residents to a small city of 7,000.  Organizers say Pat is a “cornerstone of service to the community.”
