ORIGINAL STORY

It’s been about six weeks since the last small earthquakes hit the Snoqualmie Valley, but Wednesday, December 18, 2019, another one rattled things.

According to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network, the 3.5 magnitude earthquake was centered about 3.6 miles northeast of Fall City. It struck at 7:10PM and was about 9 miles deep.

In the early morning hours of November 9th, two small earthquakes were center N/NE of Fall City and Snoqualmie. The strongest of those two was 3.3 and centered near Tokul Creek, 4 miles N/NE of Snoqualmie. That quake was about 10 miles deep.

Many residents felt tonight’s small earthquake and took to social media.

Here at our home the difference was the November one felt more like a quick jolt, where this one seemed to last slightly longer and felt more like shaking. Five of us all stopped and said, hmm.. earthquake. It lasted about 3-4 seconds.
