Facing Rare, Aggressive Cancer, Friends Work to Help Local Family after Life-changing Diagnosis

“They are an amazing family,” says friend Katie Cline-Taylor when describing her good friend Danielle Willson’s family unit. Both children attend North Bend Elementary and are very active in multiple Snoqualmie Valley sports. Dad John volunteers and helps with all the sports. Mom Danielle worked at T-Mobile.

Just an amazingly normal family, involved in the community they’ve called home for several years.  But that all changed in January. And friends are just trying to do whatever they can do to help since the Willson family was faced with the health diagnosis many fear – cancer.

Last month, after suffering horrible headaches that were misdiagnosed as migraines, Danielle was given the incredibly difficult diagnosis that she had a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer – one that was already at stage four before the correct diagnosis was made.

As friends often do – they just wanted to help.  And it’s evident that others in the Snoqualmie Valley also wanted to do the same for the family during a very challenging time.

In less than three weeks, through an online fund set up by friends Katie Cline-Taylor and Rachel Peterson, over $11,000 has been raised to help the Willson family.

Katie says Danielle has a great support team in place, but they still wanted to help the family offset the costs associated with her cancer diagnosis/treatment-  and the impact it is having on the young family.

And through it all, friends say Danielle has a resilient, positive outlook and an amazing sense of humor…. and most importantly, she can feel all the prayers.
