‘Share the Love’ | All-day Event Benefits Winter Shelter, Helps Local Homeless

Downtown Snoqualmie merchants are banding together this February, with a unique, all-day event designed to support Valley Renwal’s Winter [Homeless] Shelter, which is currently operating out of United Methodist Church in downtown Snoqualmie.

SHARE THE LOVE is an all-day Valentine’s Day Gift Giving event sponsored by the close-knit group of downtown merchants. The event takes place in several shops and cafes along Railroad Avenue on Wednesday, February 10th  from 8:30AM – 9:00PM.

Participating merchants include Corner’s Gifts, The Station Barber, The Bindlestick, Wild Hare Vintage, The Black Dog Arts Cafe, Down to Earth Flowers & Gifts, Sigillo Cellars and Carmichael’s Variety & Hardware.

Sigillo Cellars will also have special guests as part of their evening Gift & Flower Show: jewelry designer Erika Laureano and Emily Nelson with gift items from the Be in a Tree Shop for Treehouse Point. Featured artists at Sigillo are photographer Andy LeBarge and 12-year old painter Kylie Warren.

Partial proceeds from participating merchant sales during Share The Love will be donated to the Winter Shelter, which is run and managed by Valley Renewal Center.

But, downtown merchants are helping guests of the overnight winter shelter in other ways, too. During the all-day event donations of coats, blankets, & socks will also be accepted at The Black Dog Arts Cafe. Corner’s Gifts will be accepting donations of closable Tote Bags & Back Packs. And the Bindlestick is featuring a breakfast special, and donating part of the purchase price to fund complimentary sandwiches and haircuts for shelter residents right next door- at The Station Barber.

“Valentine’s Day is consistently growing as the first big shopping holiday of each new year,” remarks Alice Friedel, co-owner of Down to Earth Flowers & Gifts. “It’s a great time for us to showcase the unique inventory of our historic district merchants, and a perfect time to show how much we love this community that helps keep us in business. So we chose to use this opportunity for attracting gift shoppers as a way to also give back—to Share the Love.”
