Annual Preschool Fair: One-stop Shopping for Local Early Education Options, this Weekend

For families searching for the perfect local early education option their children, this Snoqualmie Valley annual tradition has your covered.

On Saturday January 23rd at Si View Community Center in North Bend, the 13th Annual Snoqualmie Valley Preschool Education and Enrichment Fair will be hosted by the Sno-Valley Indoor Playground from 10am to Noon.

The Fair is growing, and in its new location at Si View Community Center nearly 30 local schools & preschool-age service providers will gather to present their programs to local families. In addition, parents will find a showcase of Si View Metro Park’s community classes, activities for attending children, and refreshments.

Sno-Valley Indoor Playground hosts the annual event to help local parents navigate the road to kindergarten readiness. The overall goal of the event is to bring together Valley organizations that cater to preschool aged children for a one stop info-gathering arena. Attendees will have direct, hands-on access to teachers, directors of day care facilities, staff from enrichment programs, and a host of other services for children under five years of age.

Many Valley Preschools begin their enrollment periods for the following school year in January, making the Fair well-timed for families facing such an important decision.

“Not only is the Fair a terrific opportunity for organizations to showcase their programs,” says Marni Donnelly, Sno-Valley Indoor Playground President,  “but it saves so much time for parents. We do enough calling around to screen our children’s services and activities. It’s much better to have face-to-face interactions from the get-go, to get a real feel for the schools or providers in whose hands we consider placing our children’s care.”

Fair attendees also receive a free Resource Guide booklet, which provides contact information and detailed descriptions of all organizations registered at the Fair, includes coupons from local businesses, and lists other resources for Valley families with young children.

The Sno-Valley Indoor Playground is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization that offers community programs for families with children ages birth-5, most notably an indoor play space run from the Si View Community Center in North Bend, their annual Preschool Fair, and a children’s safety fair each spring.
