Winter Break, FREE All Day Fun at Cedar Watershed; Meet Karelian Bear Dogs!

On Wednesday, December 30, 2015, community members are invited to join Seattle Public Utilities for a fun-filled day of discovering wildlife in the Cedar River Watershed through hands-on activities, crafts, presentations and nature walks during the winter school break. Discover what kinds of wildlife live, and thrive throughout Seattle’s largest protected watershed.

Oh, and did we mention the kids will have a chance to meet Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Karelian Bear Dogs and learn how these incredible pooches help keep wild animals in the wild?

There will be lots of family friendly presentations and activities happening from 10AM – 3PM

All day presentations and activities include:

  • WDFW Karelian Bear Dogs: Meet the dogs who keep wild animals in the wild
  • Western Wildlife Outreach- Bear Aware presentations
  • Family nature walks: Rattlesnake Lakeshore exploration
  • Wildlife craft activities, animal tracks, and more
  • Examine owl pellets and discover what was for breakfast
  • Explore the Center’s Water is Magic exhibits

While free snacks & drinks are provided, it is recommended attendees bring a lunch, as food concessions are not available at the watershed. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
